keeping my furbabies happy

like everyone else, i don't have a whole lot of cash to spare but i try to keep my furry children as happy as possible since they do that for me.  last year for valentine's day i decided that they would partake in my handmade passion so i looked for some new cat toys.  i found craftycatlady's shop on etsy.  i loved her knitted/crocheted catnip toys because they were cuter and different than a lot of what else is out there, and because the dessert theme is a big one in her shop!   i absolutely adored the crocheted cupcake toy but was a little hesitant about purchasing it because my kitties have all their claws and tend to destroy their toys quickly.  i contacted craftycatlady (who is sandi, btw) and she put all my fears to rest.  she explained how safety was a primary concern of hers and how she also has a panel of cat testers.  she even shared with me some feedback from her customers.  after reading her response i decided to purchase the pair of knitted hearts along with the cupcake.

sandi makes these toys as they are ordered and she fills them with organic catnip that she grows herself.  when i opened the box with the new toys i was surprised it was possible that they could be cuter in person.  immediately they were a HUGE hit!

they like to bat and toss the small hearts around, and they tend to play with each other with the cupcake since it is a larger toy.  my worries about their claws?  totally gone.  her toys are very well made and as destructive as my cats can be, these are holding up tremendously.  you can see that in this picture of all the toys taken today.  these are the original ones i purchased over a year ago along with a pair of candy cane striped mice i got them for christmas.  obviously, all are well loved!

one day i'd like to get them her knitted kitty cake toy to continue the sweet tooth toy theme going.  she's even got a mini cupcake now in her shop.  i know my furbabies would love it if either one of those toys made it into the house.

so if you have kitties i HIGHLY recommend checking out sandi's shop!  the cupcake is obviously this house's favorite of the bunch, but any toy from her shop is worth buying!  i can truly say these all her toys are kitty tested, and "mommy" approved. =)
